We've raved a lot lately about the great values coming from Chile and Argentina. Santa Ema's Merlot is another wonderful example of a sub-$20 wine from Chile that would cost you much more for the same quality and complexity from California. A big wine that is lush and spicy in style, with concentrated flavors of dark cherry, plum and dried raspberry that are creamy and rich-tasting. Milk chocolate and toasty, vanilla oak dominate the finish.
