The dep, dark ruby-red color is almost opaque. The fruit aromas have a typical earthy/meaty nature. The palate has fresh acidity and good structure. The dark fruit becomes quite licorice-like. The rich alcohol is quite well balanced by the fruit & there are bitter gripping tannins on the finish.

Under the same ownership as Château Montrose, this estate is performing right up to its potential. With its rich tannins, dark-chocolate flavors and smoky wood aging character, the wine is coming together well. It should be ready from 2026. Roger Voss
