A bold, beautiful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec, this is a serious, structured and complex wine. Mostly barrel-fermented and given 20 months in mostly new oak, it is rich, velvety and earth, with hints of dried herb, sage, cedar and tobacco that build around a core of black cherry and plum. Grippy, it will do well in the cellar; enjoy best 2029–2039. Virginie Boone
