Duca Enrico from the Duca di Salaparuta winery is a wine that more than any other represents the Nero D'Avola wine. A story that is just over thirty years old but which has already made a firm mark on the Sicilian wine scene; the first Nero d'Avola to have been vinified in purity in this region, Duca Enrico was born from the desire of Franco Giacosa , the company's oenologist, to produce a red wine that could stand comparison with the best international analogues. Produced with grapes coming from the sapling-trained vineyards of the Suor Marchesa estate in Riesi, it matures for 18 months in oak and another 18 in the bottle, so as to achieve that aristocratic style and aromatic complexity that distinguish it.
