85% Sangiovese and 15% Merlot, Bramosia (“desire”) is comprised of the best grapes from Donna Laura’s estate Chianti Classico vineyards. Temperature controlled fermentation secures a bright profile and frequent pump-overs provides for subtle integration. The majority of the wine is aged in stainless steel, with about 10% in large oak for added dimension. Medium garnet color.
Classic nose of tart cherry, earth and dried violets. Drying sandy tannins well balanced by supple fruit. Bright acidity provides nice backbone. This wine screams for simple pizza and pasta dishes… a perfect Tuesday night Italian quaffer for those looking for true regional typicity at a stellar price.
