1792 Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is composed of corn, rye and malted barley. The corn contributes notes of buttered bread, biscuits and roasted nuts, while the heavy rye in the mashbill produces a full-bodied whiskey. Fermenting and distilling through a copper-pot still follows, then the bourbon is aged in new, American oak casks for a minimum of 8 years at Warehouse Z in Bardstown, Kentucky. Sampled carefully by Master Distiller Ken Pierce, the bourbon is brought to proof with iron-free, Kentucky limestone water from the Tom Moore spring. This Double Gold Medal winner at the San Francisco Wine and Spirits Competition (2011) and Ultimate Spirits Challenge (2012) with a score of 95 points ties Pappy Van Winkle's 23 Year Old Bourbon.
