Every wine that Grayson Cellars makes provides pleasure in droves. These are easy-going, “any day” wines. The reds (Cabernet, Merlot, and this Zinfandel) are low in tannin, bright, and fruit-forward. Easy to enjoy, varietal character is spot-on across the board.
This is excellent Zinfandel for the price: masses of flavour, full mouthfeel, and a lengthy finish. Dark in colour, with rich mixed berry notes and hints of black pepper and wood smoke on the nose, Grayson ages their Zin entirely in French oak. You’ll pick up on the spicy vanilla barrel notes through the finish.
