A charming cherry-toned and herbal red that is made of biodynamic certified grapes. A 50-50 blend of Zweigelt, Austria’s most widely planted red variety, and Pinot Noir. The two varieties share characteristics that allows them to blend particularly cohesively.
BioKult is a winemaking co-operative, a group of grape-growers who combine their harvests and share winemaking infrastructure collectively. This is common practice across Europe and historically has had both advantages and disadvantages for growers, but if well managed it can uplift regional farmers. All the growers are in the Burgenland region of eastern Austria that is focused around the large Lake Neusiedl. The farms are near the town of Pamhagen along the lake’s eastern shore.
