Seriously satisfying red wine here from Washington State! Cataclysm Wine Co. is a project out of Columbia Valley, Washington, that pays homage to the Missoula Floods that tore through the region at the end of the last ice age. Although the floods cataclysmically destroyed everything in their path, they also redefined the landscape of the Columbia Valley, leaving behind poor but well-drained soils that are perfect for grape growing today.
The "Red Blend" is Bordeaux-inspired with a twist: a smidge of Washington's bold Syrah grape. This wine is full-bodied and rich, with notes of ripe black fruit, figs, chocolate, vanilla, and baking spice and everything nice.
