The name of Château Tour Prignac, located in the commune of Prignac-en-Médoc, is a reference to the towers that grace the château and was adopted shortly after its acquisition by the Castel family. This is the northernmost of the Castel family properties. The estate extends over 300 hectares of woods and meadows. With its 144 hectares of vines, Château Tour Prignac has the largest single vineyard in the Médoc. The Cabernets have been replanted and now enjoy the benefit of the warmest plots in which to reach perfect maturity. Derived from the classic terroir of the northern Medoc region, the wines of Tour Prignac possess a lovely finesse. Classified as a Cru Bourgeois, Château Tour Prignac also produces a prestige cuvée resulting from a rigorous selection of plots: Tour Prignac Grande Réserve.
