Clos Nelin, produced by René Barbier, is crafted from four distinct parcels totaling 10 hectares. The blend consists of 50% Grenache Blanc, with the remaining 50% made up of Viognier, Pinot Noir (vinified as a white), Roussanne, Marsanne, Macabeo, Pedro Ximénez, and Escanya Vella. The vines range in age from 10 to 30 years. Depending on the grape variety and parcel, the wine is aged for 9 months on the lees in a combination of stainless steel, concrete "eggs" (small egg-shaped vats), and various sizes of oak barrels.
