The Chardonnay parcels are located on the Peuraine and Saint Martin appellations, southwest of Santenay on the border with the Maranges vineyard. These plots, located in the plains, were mostly fallow until the Girardin started exploiting them. Either these where abandoned after the phylloxera crisis in the XXth century ; either they were never planted in vines. The soil is clay-limestone, with gravel and calcareous sand on the surface. The exposure varies according to the local relief of the plot, but generally it is facing south-east. On tasting, the wine expresses fruity aromas enhanced by a beautiful acid note and above all freshness on the palate.
