A Southern Rhone-like blend of 49% Syrah, 34% Grenache, and 17% Mourvedre that spent 18 months in 50% new French oak, the Chopping Block has a big, opulent nose of smoked black fruits, black licorice, pot roast, and peppered meat-like aromas and flavors. This deep, powerful, inky colored effort stays balanced and relatively light on its feet and has a stacked mid-palate as well as a great finish. Incredible texture, complexity and density while still retaining vivid freshness.
