The Glenkinchie distillery was founded in 1837, and today is one of a handful of remaining Lowland producers. Their 12 year old malt is lightly aromatic, with notes of fresh flowers, lemon, barley, grass, and smoke. The palate is crisp but ever so slightly sweet, with flavors of fresh fruits, cut herbs, spicy peat, and a touch of beautifully balanced oak. This subtly sophisticated Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a superb pre-dinner drink; try it with a few drops of water.
