Cuvée from a small plot of Roussane in AOP Saint-Joseph, overlooking the cellar. The last vines are a few centimeters from the cliff which plunges over our domain and could serve as a takeoff for “an angel’s leap”.

History: Charlemagne particularly appreciated the wines from these hillsides, called “Vins des Mauves” , named after the village located in the center of the appellation. In the 17th century, the Jesuits of Tournon gave them the name Saint-Joseph in homage to the husband of the Virgin Mary. Geography: the appellation covers < a i=10>1160hectares over 60 kilometers long. On the right bank of the Rhône, it starts in the north with Chavanay and ends west of Valence. It extends over 26 municipalities including 23 in Ardèche and 3 in the Loire. Between 1959 and 1969, the vineyards located in this part of the Rhône were grouped under the same Saint-Joseph appellation. Soils: light, composed of schists and gneiss on granite base . South/South-East exposure. Climat: moderate continental with hot, dry summers and rain regular in other seasons.
